Therapeutic Approach

  • Specialized Support for Serious Diagnosis, Caregiving, and Grief

When life changes in ways you never imagined, it can feel disorienting and heavy. My background in oncology and palliative care informs a calm, compassionate space for processing diagnosis, caregiving, or loss. Together we make room for what’s hard while helping you rediscover steadiness, meaning, and care for yourself along the way.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR helps people process distressing memories and experiences that may still feel “stuck” in the body and mind. Using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, we gently engage the brain’s natural healing capacity, allowing painful material to integrate in a safer, calmer way.

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

CBT focuses on noticing the patterns of thought and behavior that keep you feeling anxious, low, or stuck. Together, we practice identifying these cycles and developing more balanced ways of thinking and responding, helping you build confidence and tools that last beyond therapy.

  • Mindfulness

Mindfulness brings attention to the present moment with curiosity and compassion. It can be as simple as a breath, a pause, or learning to notice what’s happening inside without judgment. This practice can reduce anxiety, improve focus, and foster a sense of calm awareness in daily life.

  • IFS-Informed (Internal Family Systems)

IFS invites us to understand the different “parts” within us, the worried parts, the protectors, the hurting parts and relate to them from a place of compassion rather than conflict. This approach helps you access your own inner wisdom and strengthen a sense of wholeness.

  • Beyond Techniques

My approach is engaged and conversational. I care about my clients and bring curiosity and compassion into my sessions. Clients have shared with me appreciation for our therapeutic relationship and feel heard and supported on their path to healing.
